I am passionate about teaching undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in speech-language pathology. My teaching philosophy is shaped by his experiences as a speech therapist and a person who stutters.
I have been fortunate to serve as an adjunct instructor for the upper level undergraduate Introduction to Language Disorders in Children course at UConn.
"You could tell Matt was both passionate about the content being taught and his students excelling in the course. Matt is an excellent professor!"
"I really appreciate him connecting some of the course content that was applicable to some of his cases. It made it easier to grasp certain ideas and concepts."
"Matt had experience with the topics we discussed in class which made it easy for him to teach us and help us understand the content. He gave us time to ask questions and have discussions about the topics we were learning and even gave us examples of the experiences he has had as an SLP."
"I really liked how the instructor was experienced and passionate about this course. Matt is young and recently graduated with his Masters in SLP which he was able to apply to the course work. I personally am not an SLHS major, but for those who were looking to apply to graduate school, Matt was very willing to help and speak with them about his own experiences. Matt always answers questions flawlessly. I really like how this course seemed to prepare students for the real world. One of my favorite courses I've taken at UConn!"
